The Parent Advocacy Program encourages parental engagement with JFCS programs and services offered to their children, including education and support groups to help prevent out of school suspension or involvement in the juvenile justice system. Sponsored by Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast, Inc. and the State of Florida, Department of Juvenile Justice.
The Tornado Achievers Program is an expansion to the Jewish Family & Children’s Service of the Suncoast, Inc., Safe Alternative to Out of School Suspension Program (SATOSS). SATOSS provides comprehensive services to at risk youth, including individual sessions with students for life skills training, tutoring, mentoring and psycho-educational groups. Tornado Achievers Program brings an important and innovative component to the existing program by engaging parental involvement. Tornado Achievers Program will serve a minimum of fifteen (15) youth between the ages of eleven (11) and fifteen (15) and fifteen (15) parents for a total of 30 participants. Youth referred to the program will be enrolled in Booker Middle School and referred to the Safe Alternative to Out of School Suspension Program.
