Healthy Families/
Healthy Children

Healthy Families/Healthy ChildrenIt's no surprise that children change a relationship, but you might not know that the relationship you have with your partner directly affects the behavior of your child. At JFCS, we offer a FREE program for couples to work on building relationship skills that have a positive impact on raising their children.

Healthy Families/Healthy Children offers new and expectant parents (infants up to three months of age) group classes to build relationships. How partners treat each other can create a chain reaction of positive or negative behavior with their child. Learning how to promote a positive chain reaction is an important part of parenting.

Start the Chain
If you are committed to your partner and want to share the responsibility of raising your children, this program will help you:

  • Communicate effectively and manage emotions
  • Adjust to a new baby
  • Develop trust and commitment with your partner
  • Deal with financial concerns
  • Find strength while facing challenges
  • Create a safe environment for your children

This program is an interactive group process with individual follow up and in-home support services. JFCS will link couples to additional services as needed, and provide ongoing support to individual couples.

For information about our services and to see if you qualify, call the HF/HC Program Director at 941-366-2224. All services are offered in English or Spanish.
